heated mirrors

Last night while i was waiting for my friend outside of the bank some drunk bastard in a pathfinder decided to take the curve a little wide clipped my driverside mirror... i took off after him since he dident stop (and did a sweet burnout by accident might i add). When he finally stopped he stumbled out of his truck and said he would pay for everything. I took down his plate # and got his address off his license and his cell #. I dident really bother getting the insurance companys involved because it was just a mirror. H dident break the actual glass part of the mirror, but all the plastic on the outside and on the arm.

well heres my question,

I currently have just the regular power mirrors with the chrome caps. I was lookin this morning online for a new driverside mirror for this asshole to buy me. I saw a pair of power/ heated mirrors that werent too much more that the unheated ones, and they were all black. If I get the heated mirror, will i be able to hook them up? is their everything I need inside the truck already?

Not 100% sure on the 2000's, but my 04 has them linked to the rear defroster. It's quite possible that there's a harness just waiting for the mirrors. Have a poke around inside the dash, tracing the harness from the defroster (or use a fuse box schematic and trace it that way).

Do you have the rear defroster switch on your temp control unit?

shortley after posting this thread i found the same black mirrors that werent heated. Just Power. So i guess we can ignore this thread now. sorry bout that, thanks anyway.

See if you can find the power mirro with the turn signals, that is an easy mod and well worth it.

DRUNK? Please tell me you called the cops....And that he didn't drive away from the scene once you caught him.

BTW. I woulda beat his ass! those mirrors aren't cheap!
