What gear do i have?

how do i find out what gear is in my 97 gt?
i know that i could take the rear apart and count it, but i also heard about a way where you count the number of times the wheel and the drive shaft turns.
i was wondering if i could have the numbers of turns or where i could find them.

There should be a door tag on the drivers side door, near the striker. Look for an AX code.

i bought the car used and i think there might be a gear in it, so i was looking for a way to find out if there is a gear and what gear it is. the reason i think there is a gear is because the speedo is not accurate.

ok i turned the wheel once around and the drive shaft went around 3 and 3/4 times. what does that mean? Is that all i need to figure out what gear it is?
