My a/c isnt blowing cold anymore and with summer coming, I was wondering what kind of freon it uses.

'teg is a 91 lss b18a

and if its type 12, is it possible to switch to r134a easily?
thanks in advance.

You have R12 and yes you can convert it to R134A you need to go to the local auto parts store and buy a conversion kit. It is rather simple to do.

actually u dont want to use that retro conversion cause r12 lines are not made r 134a refrigerant but if u really want to put 134a in there i would say go to a licensed a/c shop because if u use that retro crap u will need new seals some and to put 134a in r12 system ur suspose to vacum the r12 out
and yes i know what im talkin about im certified to do a/c's and i have certification to buy r12

hey what whtteg wrote is correct. u can just go to walmart, they have the conversion kit from an r12 to r134a for about $34. but before u put the new stuff in, make sure u take it to a a/c specialist to remove all the r12 out. also before u put the conversion cap on, make sure u twist out the lil tab from the a/c nozzle. the directions didn't tell me to remove the cap so i lost about have the r134a that i just put in cause it wouldn't seal tight.

yes bro, the tab in ur a/c unit. to get a better visual, it looks just like the lil tab or middle prong that holds the pressure in which is sticking out of ur tire where u put air in. anyways, u have to remove that off first by twisting it off, then u can put the new conversion cap on. good luck.
