whats the difference between 4.3 fuel injected and 4.3 tbi

They are all fuel injected engines. You can have the TBI, throttle body injected like an old carb with injectors in it, or the CPI, central port injection that sprays gas into each cylinder separately. The CPI will have a W in the VIN number visible in the windshield.

i have the tbi can i take the throttle body off and put a differnet intake and put a carb on it?
also if i decide to swap it out for a v8 what would i have to do

Just taking a quick look on Google doesn't show any 4.3L carburated intake manifolds so I'd say no to your carb question. I might be wrong here.
Swaping to a v8 isn't too bad I'm told. Your transmisssion will work, and you'll apparently need the 2.8L motormounts, and you'll probably have to switch fuel pumps if you run a carb. You could run a fuel pressure regulator instead I suppose but your fuel pump will probably have to work harder burning out faster. (kinda like pushing fuel past a partly plugged fuel filter)
I saw another v8 conversion on Friday, about 3/4 finished, and getting the proper exhaust made up makes a big difference.
Look at this link, it shows what's required for the V8 swap

You can swap to an edelbrock carb, but you will also have to change the intake.

good company. I get all my engine parts through them

why do you want to change? tbi is a better system than the carb. what year you got?

To a degree I would agree with you... But done right
a properly done lower intake system and 4 corner carb can make some better power. But personally I prefer fuel injection regardless.

i like the power they can give too, but just got tired of tweeking this and turning that. trying to get to those little adjusting screws is a nightmare sometimes, and when you finally get it down to a system you realize,"damn, im spending too much time in here."

That wouldn't be a smart idea for a street driven truck.... unless maybe your into self abuse. Check out TurboCity(.com).... they have some tweaks for the TBI (like a bored, high-flow TBI body, flow matched injectors, spacers etc......) Use the system you have because the engine management computer will take care of the required tweaks to the mixture.... not so with a carb set up
