just waiting at a light listening to some music i witnessed a mercedes sl pull up to a mustang gt at a light. guy looked about 45 or so. kid in the mustang looked maybe 19-20. i hear the mustang rev at the sl and the old man looks over and smiles.
old man revs back and gets ready to launch.
light turns green and they both hit it. the mustang squeeling its tires for just a sec the sl pulls on him from the jump and keeps a car lenth lead on the stang. i currently have cars behind me honking cause i was at a still waiting to see who won at a green light.
though i had to get the car rolling, within 2 blocks the sl was a car length ahead. and i'm sure he kept the lead.
lesson learned. dont race old people, they will blow your doors off :iceslolan

lol..no kiddin... There's a guy around her in his 60's who goes racing with us on the weekends, his nickname is shorty, he's got a Grand National, Z06, 383 85' Camaro, 04' GMC Pickup(heavily modded), and a bunch of other bad ass vehicles that he races whoever is crazy enough to run him.

Those SL500 look real nice, my neighbor has one but I don't think he races :(.

Those SL's are gorgeous, especially the 55 and 65 AMG versions. I think they're all automatics though. Even still, beautiful cars albeit a tad overpriced.

Haha, it's all about being a valet who races cars around the block while the people are inside eating dinner..

The only "SL" with a manual is the SLK350. Even the supercar-level SLR has an automatic.
They are the perfection in automatics, however and can - especially the newer AMG's - out-launch or match AWD launches, with the help of their Godly traction-control systems.

Reason why I never ever ever leave my car with valet.
