95 Taurus electrical problem

Over the past sevral years my Taurus will start sputtering and then cut off if it is warm weather and I am setting in traffic. It will start back up and do all rite after setting for a half hour or so providing I am not setting in traffic.
To date the Electronic Module, Coil, Plugs, and finally the distribitor have been replaced. The only thing that helped was replacing the distributor. (This was done to make an easy job of replacing the pick-up coil.)
I would be grateful if this was the end of it but it isn't. The distributor has now been replaced 2 times and the car is doing the same thing again and even worse it will cut off when traveling at a good rate of speed when the weather is not that warm.
I suspect the pick-up coil again but it seems that something is causing it to go bad within a years time after being replaced.
Any body had this problem before?
