spark plug suggestions please

heres the abbrvi8ted story: car started to bog down /jerk @ x's. 1st thing i did was change plugs.ngk out, splitfires in (cuz ive always liked em) anyway it didnt help the prob got worse over time. taken to mech where i bought it they said it was the distrib and replaced it--->>no change, maybe even worse. took it back, they looked it over and said it was the distrib. (yeah i know) but they said the new one must be bad, they think its the pick up. but i just read somewhere that jap cars "dont like" bosch plugs, so are these cars just real picky about the plugs? maybe the 1st new distrib was fine and my car dont "like" the splitfires? if bosch is no good in a celi, what symptoms would it show? my car only acts up when upto driving temp, which as the weather gets warmer comes alot quickr. idle drops to 5-600 and it sounds like its running on 3cyl.{ok maybe its not so abbrev8ted after all}

Get yourself a set of NGK V-power copper plugs. They seem to be the best plug for almost any engine, unless your engine calls for platinum plugs specifically, in which case I'd use NGK platinum plugs. It's not just Japanese cars that seem to have problems with Bosch Platinum plugs, just do some Googling and see how many people have had problems with them.

hmmmm what exactly does the car do just bog down? if your mechanic says u need a new distributor then u need a new distributor....did u replace that?

its still warrantied (not now, but at the time the prob developed) its a used car dealer, with not the best rep, but i originally took it and they changed the distrib (supposedly), no effect on the prob so i took it back, he looked it over again and now says we hadta order a new distrib "think the pick up is the problem". im starting to think theyre idiots, but we'll find out 2morrow when i take it back i guess. as far as exact symptoms: fine w/ eng cold, but after driving it awhile and it warms up, it loses power big time, sounds just like a 1969 vw bug (like its hitting on 2-3cyl) skips like bitch, and if i hold the gas pedal just right(just past the point of cruising w/ a little accel., it jerks back and forth to the point of being able to see it from the outside of the car, gas mileage is way down, idle drops from 1100 (when i 1st start it) down to anywhere from 500-800. just an all around shitty ride..and embarassing too.
