yea just a muffler? eh... don't waste money on that. well, that's just my opinion.

there are many sites in the FAQ....try and look there. I could probably name a few brands to help you, what type are you looking for? Turbo or N/A? do you care about how loud it is? I need to know your goals to pick an exhaust...

um for n/a, not something too loud. I've heard that apex n1's are good. I'm planning to make a custom catback with 2.5 piping, anything i should watchout for? tips?

Get at least a 3". If you want a quiet exhaust, get an RS-R ExMag, Phase2 has them, the N1 is a good all around exhaust. If you are going to make your own, make sure it's mandrel bent and use stainless steel piping.

if your going N/a then i would look for an apexi N1 dual, ive heard many good things about the duals on N/A engines. Check in the sites provided above..

And for an N/A he doesnt really need a 3". He could, but i dont think he needs quite that much flow.

If he's going to turbo later (most likely), he should get a 3" now, get a silencer and then take it out when he turbos.

that would be optimal if he plans to boost, but he didnt say that and he said N/A so i figured he meant he wasnt going to boost...

yeah stick with hit-n-run, if your not gonna boost you dont really need 3 inch exhaust

3 inch exhaust wont hurt if you think you may change your mind about boosting later.
you might notice a small drop off of power below 3 or 4 grand and it will be hella loud without a turbo but thats about it.
and yeah, Tsudo exhausts = teh rice boi's best mod

they are 1 step above APC but its a small baby step

if money is an issue go get an apex'i N1 its like $450 or so. RS-R, HKS, ect will be more like 600 bucks i think.

if you wanna spend more green, any company that makes an exhaust for your model silvia, 180sx, 240sx, will all fit on a 240sx.

just wondering but doesnt NISMO sell an N1 style exhaust for the s13 in japan? i cant read japanese so i was a little lost on their website :)
i bet its like $2000 though
