slotted rotors

I was wondering if anyone could tell me a decent brand name to get some slotted rotors from. I was thinking about upgrading my brakes this summer. Instead of looking at my rusty factory rotors, I was thinking about getting some of those rottors that have the slots in them. Anyone have a link on where to get some decent ones. I have been pricing them and they range from 100.00 - 400.00.

There are several stock-size rotor replacements for the AWD 3000GT/Stealth cars that may be better than the factory rotors. The stock front rotors (1994+) are 314 mm x 30 mm and weigh about 17.2 lbs (7.8 kg). PowerSlot and PowerStop rotors, with prices ranging from $100 to $140 for each rotor, work well on the street but may not be appropriate for race track use. Porterfield rotors ($80 to $105 from [email protected]) are made by Brembo, Bradi, ATE, or un-named American company. Porterfield offers cryogenic treatment for about $45-50 extra for each rotor. Stillen also offers OEM replacement rotors (made by Brembo I think) that are either cross-drilled or slotted for $115 to $150 each (depending on model). Brembo makes cross-drilled or slotted rotors for all 3000GTs/Stealths (both front and rear axles, and FWD or AWD). MVP Motorsports sells the Brembo rotors for $121 to $190 each, depending on model and axle. Supercar Engineering sells stock replacement front and rear rotors made by Carbotech Engineering for all models and years of 3000GT/Stealth. Slotting and cryogenic treatment are available.

thanks for the reply. I was looking to put them on a 2003 Eclipse GT. So you have to pay extra to get them coated so they won't rust?

Power-stop makes some great brake rotors. so does willwood and SSBC(Stainless steel brake co)

Cryo treatments make them stronger and less likely to warp. If I remember correctly, zinc-coatings are implemented to prevent rust. Some companies zinc coat their rotors from the factory, but I think all companies charge extra to cyro-treat.

IMO Brembo is the only way to go. I run them on my 91 Talon AWD, and my Eclipse. They get great milage, and have a grat bite when paired with propper brake pads. Get EBC Green Stuff pads. They are the best as far as performance goes. If you need somthing cheaper though you can get away with Hawk brake pads.

i wouldnt get brembo. brembo's come stock on evos and most owners swap them out with stoptechs b/c they wont stop good enough. i see no reason in spending $1000 on a set of brake rotors. if you want to spend that much money, go with stoptechs. if you dont, then go with powerslot. many, many, many eclipses owners have these. there is a group buy sale on another forum for these.

these quotes are from a guy on another board who is one of the most knowledgable person ive ever talked to about 1G/2G/3G. he races with the guys from RRE(i know youve heard of roadrace engineering). i dont know of one person who has questioned any of his knowledge.

Honestly man, those of us who frequent the track go with dual piston calipers, PowerSlot rotors (a few of us crazy kids still use cheap ass stock rotors ), and Porterfield R4-E pads. Then we step it up in tires. Then when we kill those brakes, we go with StopTech's.

Too many people are fooled by 26 piston caipers with 36" rotors, etc. Your money is better spent on good pads and good tires (don't forget SS brake lines and good brake fluid too).


While the Brembo's are good, the EVO's I know of that frequent the track ditch the Brembo's up front in favor of the StopTech's.

Hey Eclipse4utoo can you tell me where to get the powerslot rotors from. I dont' want to spend a ton of money but I do want to upgrade my rotors and pads.
