Well i'm inheriting this car, it's all stock except for the alternator because it quit on us a year or two ago. Seeing as I dont know much about cars does anyone have a couple of mods they know I can buy and bring to my local auto shop to have installed that will increase the longevity and performance of the car? It has 250k miles on it and is still running like a beast :P

BTW:
It is a v6 2.8L I think (Just trying to remember off the top of my head)

And also, does anyone know of any good crate engines that would go in the car no problem (done by a shop)? Cause now that I think about it it's the least powerfull engine of the series and saving up for a better engine might be the way to go. Also if the exhaust system needs to be replaced after the new engine that's no biggie, just something that wont require a couple million little things to be replaced.

If you are going with a crate engine. I would go with a V-8 probably a 350. You will also have to swap the tranny but you can have the swap done relitively cheap and it will be a night and day differance

do you have to pass emissions? If you do, you may need to add an air pump along with the A.I.R. system to pass...

p.s. with 250K, it's not worth investing money to squeak a little more out of the V6, I'd save up...

Yes, the car has to be 25 years old to disqualify for emissions, this car has to wait until 2012 until it qualifies.

If your get a crate motor, you will need to consider things like: Whats the car going to be used for? Daily driver or summer hot rod? Gas Milage. stuff like that.

The crate 350 is a nice motor, but it all depends on what you plan on doing.
