Relays missing?

Hi,
When I looked in the Fuse & Relay box under the bonnet, I saw that there are 2 relays missing. They are the "Fan No. 1" and the "Engine Main". The car looks to be working fine without them, I'm just wondering what these relays are for. Anyone some more information on these relays?
