New sub forums!!!

Ok it has to be brought to my attention that alot of members who use this forum would like to have sub forums. So I would like to know what sub forum you guys who use this forum think would serve you best so I can go about getting them for you. Nissanfanatic has recommended this format:


General chat discuss general topics about the 240sx and similar cars
Racing discuss topics regarding drifting, dragging, autox, ect concerning the 240sx and similar.
Technical Discuss technical topics regarding the 240sx and similar.
Engine swaps Discuss various engine swaps into the 240sx adn similar.

While other thought just 2 sub forums
like

Ka-T
SR

would work best. I would like some imput on this and then I will put up all your suggestion up in this thread as a poll and you can vote on what you would like.

/\ /\ /\ I agree. That looks like a great breakdown. Anyone that wants to post racing stuff in the 240 forum can just post it under General Chat. And the seperation of engine choices is a great idea due to the growing number of Ka-T guys. And as far as CA and RB motors go, we shouldnt worry...there havent been too many of those come thru. It could be posted in general anyways.

The conceptual will cover AWD swaps, 350swaps, all the out there subjects. I myself would like to just ahve a KA-T section because of my personal wants. But I realize that my opinion should extend much further than just what I want. I'm attempting to make my opinion cover what will make everyone happy. And with that said, ALL possible topics about the 240sx should have a section. No matter how stupid they may seem, to someone they are not.

AWDSR20, I also like simple. But I'm trying to speak for the people who aren't posting up. I would like everyone to have a section no matter what their interest. I'm thinking of the people who just read on the forums and not just the ones that post.

too many... suspension and conceptual will both be empty. i dont even know what conceptual is. and suspension stuff basically bolts up... dont need a special forum for that. thats like have a seperate forum for brakes or wheels/tires... each of the threads would get deluted.

thats my final answer :smile: and the ka and sr aren't really "swaps"... the 240 was sold with both stock, so i dont think you can call them swaps. just different tech for each engine.

i don't think it should be broken down in the first place. it'll just be a hassle to jump back and forth ... plus if you look at the amount of new threads that appear per day... it's only about 2 or 3. nothing extensive or overwhelming to the point where we can't keep track of what's going on.

There will still be a main forum. The other will just be additions at the top. Like in the cavalier section, the camaro and the eclipse forums.

Also I like tat's suggestion too but the link to the street racing forum?. There is not really a need for that. If you want to go to the SR forum its 3 clicks away. I don't think that a direct link is needed.

maybe tats version except JDM swap instead of just SR so that would cover the RB, SR, and CA

^That is what I said from the beginning. I think more people will frequent the 240sx section if there is a specific section that interests them.

Yeah Divinding this into more than 2 forums would be a waste of time. having a KA and SR section would be lame too since noone here really asks indepth enough questions to need an SR or KA specialist. plus I think it would make it harder for me to make fun of the KA's unJDMness.

2) Noone here Including myself really knows that much about the RB series besides pointing them to the Mckinney kit. so that Forum would be filled with one post long threads

3) Nobody on here Rocks the CA and even if they did its closely related enough to the SR or RB for the knowledge to be universal.

4) I think its pretty obvious that "the great mod banning of 2005" was an April Fools Joke and you guys got Stallowned.

and i like mynismos idea. We dont really need all this broken down too specific. KA and SR are most common so those would be needed. But suspension tech really is not needed, that could be talked about in the general tech section, along with lsd's, wheels, brakes, etc. Then the ka and sr would have there own section for obvious reasons, most common things done.

so it would be like this..?

1) general 240 tech
2) KA section
3) SR section
4) BS'ing area and general chat

yea we cant separate all the engines into different subs it will get to be a hassle we should keep all engines together

I think it would be nice to have a suspension sub-forum, where people can discuss track/drift/drag setups, tires, coil overs and discuss parts (roll cages, shock and where to get).
I think it should be like this

I don't like the idea of adding sub forums on. I think having a mixture of everyone in here is better because if you know stuff about nissan engines be it a ka a sr or an rb or whatever you can always give input that helps someone else out. If you break a forum up the majority of the people end up in one spot anyways and the sub forums don't get used. Also you don't get replys as fast if you break the forum into 1/4's so I think the idea is bad, if we are going to break it up into pieces lets start with 2 for a little while then go to 3 and such cause right now there arn't enough people to support cutting this forum into 1/4's or whatever I think everyone will either end up in one spot or everyone will just get tired of the forum and move to another. But that is just my 2 cents

Man i was reading this and was hoping i could post in here before it was decided and i was still banned. Well I think we should create a Poll..there are some of your guys Ideas and some i dont. Give everyone a week to vote then in the end. Thats what they will be.

I really think that a classifieds section would benefit the forum but what ever you guys think.

And I don't think splitting the forum up will do any harm. Truth is if I see a thread and don't think I'll be interested, I don't look at it. And I'm sure many of you are the same way. I only end up looking at about 5 threads every time I get on because most of them are BS threads. And with a separate forum, you can funnel the BS into one board. The only way I would look at every thread is if I was a moderator.

BUT if you devide the forum you won't explore all threads in the others and will end up missing something you would of found interesting, Basicly, we will be going to the www.freshalloy.com look and feel and all that happens on there is everyone complans about if this was the correct place to post the question. I know if things switch I won't be satisfied with this forum and will see no need to come here before freshalloy. I like the idea of a classified but that is all I really see we need but at the same time everything being mixed in is better there cause then when someone needs something that someone else has the time that one person needs it and the other one decides to sell it doesn't have to match, I just sold a Iacv that I didn't even plan on selling yet cause I haven't stripped the motor down for rebuild yet but since he needed it I was like what the heck help a fellow member out. That is my view

OH YEAH another point I would like to make, how many NEW post's do we have on average each day? 10ish.... that means if you break the forum into 4 then you will get a little over 2 posts in each subforum screw that...

The whole reason he was banned in the first place was becasue of his constant attacks to moderators. I sent him 2 PM's today one was asking him to take it down. The other was telling him to take it down. Both were read, my read confirm was filled out. He did not try to talk to me or attempt to remove his comment.

I personally do not like banning members. My rush is my 11 sec GN, not kicking people off AF but, I was asked to do a job. If he wants to E-mail me, and apologize, he as my E mail adresss and AIM name.

As far as you guy talking about banned members. Just PM FormulaLT1 or I or any other moderator.
