Golf 1.3 H Reg - Another Non-Starter

Hi. Ok, my H reg 1.3 Golf 4 spd manual was running mostly ok, occ cutting out but would restart immediately. Carried out a service - new plugs, rotor arm, HT leads, air filter, etc. Replaced rocker cover gasket as well. Had timing check - it was out and now rectified. Now it won't start at all. It turns over on the key but won't catch. Getting really fed up as I have changed:
Plugs, HT leads, Distributor cap, Distributor (known 2nd hand), rotor arm, ignition module and lead, fuel filter and pump (in engine) - made no difference at all. Getting very near petrol can and match time. Help!!!!!
