1991 Maxima with transmission problems

My friend has a 1991 Maxima that when put into reverse when the transmission is hot, it does not go. However when it is cold it works fine. I read once somewhere that the reverse control module goes bad on some of the early 90's Maximas, and was wondering if that could be the problem. Help is needed and appreciated.

Fluid level ok? Color is red?

Check first the linkages, bushings in both wire ends for wear.

Check out how the lever at gearbox works.
