i found the code on a card in the owners manual. after i enter the code what do i do. after a while it just flashes "code". i went to a dealer and they didnt help. they said press seek and scan together. i dont have a seek button, just a scan button. this one tech came out with this piece of paper that said press the am and fm button together then press scan and hold and that will do it. tried that didnt work.
if it helps this is a BASE model jetta 5 speed 1.8. the radio is just a cassette/radio player.
any helps?
i am on yahoo messenger and AOL right now

I think it's mode & scan on older models, or whatever button is on the opposite side of the unit.

I have a 93 and 97 Jetta and if you enter the code it will flash and then auto set after you enter it. You may want to call a dealer to varify the code that you have. I got help from the dealer in Winnipeg, Manitoba with mine and they were very helpful. "Auto Haus" is the dealership name
