I went to put in some new 5 1/2 speaker in the front of my 94 civic (cx) and i went to take out the factory speakers and they have that stupid plug on them. So the wire coming from the car has the other end of the plug, is there a special way to take that off so that i can connect the new speakers (dont have the plug)? I was just going to clip the wires at the plug but i noticed that the plug end (that is connected from the car) open up and i guess the wires should slide out...but they didint no matter how hard i pulled. Any help would be nice. Thanks!

i agree. Then just get some female connectors, crimp the wires and connect them to the new speakers.

Yup, bingo...

Simple as that, I prefer bullet type connectors but sometimes those things are a BITCH to remove! :finger:

yep cut them.. at least your car had wires for speakers in the front.. someone did an insanely ghetto job on the system in my car, no wiring harnes for the deck, no wires for the front speakers.. i had to re wire all of it! now that was a bitch!
