96 Blazer A/C question

I've had the A/C compressor and evaporator replaced. With new parts, the ac was cycling on for about 3 seconds, then off for about 3 seconds. Mech. checked it out and replaced low side pressure switch. Now, when truck idles, compressor cycles fine. If i give it some revs (1500 or so), it cycles quickly like mentioned above. Air coming out of vent is nice and cold when the compressor is engaged, but because the compressor cycles too quickly, it takes a while to cut the Florida heat. My mech. is a great guy and always does me right, I just want an idea of what this could be before I go see him again. Searched the forums here and couldn't find any similar post. What's normal for compressor cycles, BTW?

you should check to see if the refrigerant is up to level as well and make sure they put in oil with the refigerant.

OK, thanks. I was hoping it was just something simple. I know he did put oil in it, I remember seeing it on the bill. I'll have 'em top of the refrigerant.

Just because its on the bill dosen't mean it was done. This is something you can do yourself. You can buy a can of refrigerent, oil and the hose at Wally World for about $10.00 US and its done. Good luck.
