exhaust question

Im looking for a good quality exhaust with a low pitch sound but still good performance. I have a 95 GS-T and I just want to know your opinions on a good exhaust with a lower pitch sound. Thanks

Ive heard that if you go too big of an exhaust diameter then u lose backend power, is 3" too big or should i go with a 2 1/4"?

by the way im looking for the entire exhaust system, not just muffler

Sorry Im extremely dumb when it comes to cars right now, whats the difference between turbo back and catback exhausts? if someone could give me a link to a good exhaust for my car thats around 500-600$ then Ill be very greatful

Turbo back is from the turbo to the end(down pipe cat/testpipe). Back cat is from the cat back.

turbo-back= replaces the exhaust from the turbo back

cat-back= replaces exhaust from catalic converter back

check out www.slowboyracing.com they have a nice 3in turbo back for 650.
in turbo application most of the time bigger is better, but you can got too big...3in should be fine....

agreed but i had the full turbo back apexi n1 on my gsx and it sounded nice and gave good gains. Out of the regular south florida dsm club cars i think about 7/9 that have aftermarket exhausts have the n1.

There is your downpipe and get midas to make the cat back. That way you will spend $300 over $500-600 and it will sound just as good. and you will have $200 to spend on other mods :smile:

I say go with a muffler ship, you can get one fabbed for about 400 with 3 in which will take just about as many ponies as you can throw at it. I got mine used (TURBO BACK) from some guy in san francisco who gave his talon to his mom who didn't like the sound for......drumroll please

$40. Downpipe with high flow cat plus 3 in catback with a flowmaster muffler. The flowmaster has a nice LOW note...it is really loud tho, but fun to set off car alarms going down the road.

As for the loss of power you mentioned, yes you will lose some low end torque. Please don't get 2 1/4 exhaust I beleive that is the diameter of your stock exhaust. You won't notice a huge amount of torque loss on the stock t-25 turbo but if you upgrade, you will notice the loss. More top end tho. I have 3in w/ my brand new EVO III 16g and i sorely miss having full 11psi at 2.8k. damn thing doesn't even spool till then....o well it hauls ass anyways! I say go muffler shop, but other than that PIT performance sells a titanium cat back for like 799 which is damn good for titanium exhaust.They also sell SS for much less www.horsepowerfreaks.com

Titanium exhaust will make ANY car sound raspy

I was looking on horsepowerfreaks.com and I saw a few exhausts that interested me. One is the Greddy EVO2, but is that just cat or is it turbo back exhaust. The other is the PIT Performance Exhaust System T-304 Stainless Steel which I have the same question on, and is there any way to tell how big it is?

I found on ebay a couple of items. Found a downpipe with a 2.5" inlet, 3" outlet for about 75, 100 with shipping, and also a muffler by megan racing with a 3" inlet, 4.5" outlet, how do u guys feel about megan racing. Heres the links:

if you want a fart tube go with the apexi n1 I heard them before STAY AWAY FROM THEM. a really good sounding muffler is a magnaflow muffler. check on ebay you can get them for around 150 bucks. happy searching
