girl who needs help

Alright Well I have a 96 cavalier and it has given me so many problems. First it needed a new alternator so we had to get that replaced and along with that it got a new belt. Then in the winter it didn't want to start and NOW it's shaking really bad,there is a gas smell,it sounds terrible and then it says ETS and then a picture next to it that looks like an engine i guess? I have no idea i am car dumb but im willing to learn. any help would be greatly appreciated!

Since you smell gas and are a novice I would take it to a shop. All of these symptoms could be one problem, like a bad intake gasket. Good Luck.

the shaking could be an alignment problem if it happens at high speeds. Otherwise, take it into a professional to diagnose the problem.

shaking and rough idling though is synonymous with alot of gas problems.

I got it fixed today :) I had to get new spark plug and an ignition coil and someother things. No idea I just got what the guy told me to. Now my car is back to normal.
