Sure. One easy way is to drop a Yamaha in it.

Or a turbo/supercharger.

It would be useful to know how fast your car goes now. A quick enhancement would be to reprogram your PCM, but it probably isn't enough alone to get to 120 if you're only doing like 105 now. K&N air filter, synthetic oil, new spark plugs and performance wires, wider exhaust/intake, etc.

Heh... :) It's engine time, man. Or new car time.

Do they put the stock Taurus tranny behind the Yamahas?

If you're finding the engine yourself, it will depend on where you get it; probably best bet is a salvage yard or engine rebuilder. And, more importantly, unless you're doing the work yourself, it's going to depend very heavily upon how much your mechanic charges you, but I can tell you that it will cost you enough that it would be worthwhile to sell your '94 and just buy about a '98 SHO. Additionally, the GenIII SHOs have a larger, more powerful engine (235hp) than the previous ones (220hp) that were put in the '94 (which would be an easier swap than a '96 SHO engine into the '94). Plus you run a far smaller chance of shredding the junk transmission in your '94 with a SHO engine. Furthermore, in putting a SHO engine in a non-SHO Taurus, you miss out on the SHO's significantly improved suspension and minor styling upgrades, etc.

Bottom line: If you want a faster Taurus, you'd probably be better off buying one. Frankly, engine swaps are usually best reserved for experienced mechanics, people with blown engines, or people with too much money and curiosity.

Incidentally, to put some semblance of a price on this operation, I would expect that we're talking about $1500-$2000, give or take $500 or so, for an engine and labor. Someone in this forum just bought a '97 SHO with 120K for $3000 I think I read, if that helps you.
