Some quick questions...

I know you'll all tell me to use the Search tool or read the FAQ for the answer to these, but I'm in a rush here so I just need some answers quickly.

I'm looking at a GS 2-door, from what I've read it produces 140 hp compared to the GSR's 185 (I think it's 185?). Anyhow, is this engine worth fixing up? Are the internals strong enough for FI? Are parts easy to find for it? How's the reliability? Does it respond well to bolt-ons?

Thanks

i belive the gs does have 140 hp, but the GSR has 170. As for engine fixing up part, i would say it responds very well to bolt ons. The GS should be able to handle more boost (stock) then the GSR due to the compression ratio being lower, but if you wanted to boost more then like 9 psi (not exactly sure, check with others) you would probably need to fix up the internals and such. Either way good luck

I believe I read that the LS rods can handle up to 300hp and 12 psi (psi doesn't really mean anything because with different turbos, the psi will be more or less [not sure I'm saying that in a good way]). But yes the LS/GS/RS are turbo friendly.

Sweet.

The one I'm looking at is a one-owner with 68,000 ORIGINAL miles....the car looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor, it's beautiful.

He wants $4,750....good price or no?

For that condition it's probably a good deal. Specially if it's 96+.

I tried to post a link from KBB.com. It didn't work so I deleted the posting. Just go on KBB.com and input the info. For a private party sale in excellent condition it was $4170.00. But thats in Texas. It may vary in other states. If its in excellent condition the price may be good, but you may be able to talk the guy down.

12 psi (psi doesn't really mean anything because with different turbos, the psi will be more or less [not sure I'm saying that in a good way]).

CivicSpoon is more or less correct. with proper tunning the stock internals can handle that psi. i just would not daily drive at 12 psi everywhere. id get a boost controller

I've read it in quite a few threads here and some at H-T. Like I said, I've only read it and I don't personally know if it's true or not (just want to make that clear). But even if it is true, I'd never trust it enough to do it myself.
