east coast vs west

i noticed that a 90 4runner cost about twice as much west of colorado as east. does anyone know why?

Well I have noticed that not only 4runners cost more in the west. It goes for all cars, the price gets higher as you go west.

I live in CO, and haven't found many good deals on 4runners in this state. When I bought mine, it was about 2 years ago, and its supercharged and limited and got it for 11,900 in Salt Lake. My dad just bought a Tacoma and had to fly to New Hampshire to get it. IMO its usually cheaper to find a great deal on autotrader.com or something and fly out to get it.
Another reason why they might be more in the west (in CO at least) is the mountains, where you definetly need 4wd, and you dont need that out east. Also people on farms seem to prefer american made trucks. I dont know, I love to ramble, sorry.
