I've been a member for a while and have been one of those guys who was trying to find another RI who can legalize a Skyline.
Well long story short I am buying a R32 GTR. I'm going to finalize everything in a few days :iceslolan.
They clutch that is currently on there is a HKS twin disc. The car will be a daily driver and I wanted to know from owner and actual GTR drivers what is the best clutch to run.
This is going to be a 1994 R32 and 600 beast.
Any input is appreciated.
TIA.

Stick with the HKS clutch. You will just need to get used to it. It WILL take some practice.

600hp, what does it have?
Your going to have to stick with a twin with that power.
Got pics?

Thanks for the input guys. I think I may have jumped too quick. I bought the HKS triple disc clutch from this board alast week.
I am picking up the R32 from RB motoring.

John

Are both push types, or pull types. You do know the early R32s are different, right?

Actully I didn't know. I was suppose to get the 1994 R32, but the wife likes the R33 and R34's better.
So I have to wait to see if the one RB has will make it through DOT.

Where do you live?
Pics do not do justice to the R32, they look a hell of a lot better in person, they are lighter, and less crap for to break (electrically). Plus you can go 2WD mode by a flip of the switch, something you cannot do on either of the R33 and R34. For the price, you still get the same engine for the most part. I would stick with the R32 any day of the week. Ask most guys that are really into GTRs, and they will go with the R32.

I live in NY.
Honestly I love the R32's because of the lightweight, but because I had to go through the wife first on getting a GTR, I had to compromise with her on it.
No worries for me, been wanting a GTR for a while and I'll take what I can get =)

I will like to recommend you the ORC twin plate clutch race type not the damper type. You will be able to push 700 hp with no problem and it's pressure plate it's so light that you will be able to push it with your finger. I tell you this because that's what I put in mine 34 and it works great.

Thanks! I'll look into that clutch. I have a local buyer for the HKS so may work out real good for me :grinyes:

Your car sounds great - a '94 R32 is top shelf! And the clutch options stated above are all very good for the car... but 600hp + triple plate clutch + daily driver = pain in the ass.
Just saying you will need patience - especially in heavy traffic on an incline :)
Loads of fun once you hit the open road though!

I don't own a skyline nor do I know alot about them but....RB Motoring suggests that you use the Nismo Twin Plate Clutch or the twin plate one from HKS if you plan on driving on the streets, and that the triple plate is extremely difficult to drive with (Roadwise).
Just what I heard previously. If I made a mistake feel free to correct me.
