Where's the fuel pressure regulator please

Can anybody please tell me exactly where my FPR is and how easy it is to replace it - the more detailed the better. My friend says it's near the tbi and may be hard to reach. I have a 1990 3.1 V6 and my mechanic wants $300+ to replace it (I only paid $500 for the car which ran perfect until yesterday). I have found aftermarkets from $35-$125 and figured it was better to save a couple hundred bucks.

It's under the upper intake, the part that says "3.1" on it. Little round job with a vacuum line stuck on it. Bolts to the fuel rail. Can't remember if you have to take the upper manifold off to get to it. I think you do.
