Maybe you guys can help me with a problem im having with my current sub and amp. right now sometimes my amp will turn off in the middle of playing. Its hard to describe, when a song hits a part which requires alot of bass or is using the sub for a long period of time (a really long low hz noise) the amp will turn off, and the light for 'offset protection' comes on, the only way to make it work again is to turn off the headunit, wait a few seconds, then turn it back on. Any ideas?

it may be overheating, amps tend to generate a lot of heat and if they reach a certain temperature they will turn themselves off to avoid damage. since your saying its after eveyr use then this seem quite likly.

it could be running at to low of an impediance (ohms)...that is quite possibly the case.. I use to use a 500W 4ch Xplod, I had it set up so each channel was seeing 1 ohm, and after 20min it would get hot enough that you could barely touch it, then it shut itself off....(power protect) Do you have your amp bridged???......if you do, i would suggest unbridging it, or re wiring your subs. Or you could make a custom cooling unit...

sounds like your on the limit (impedance wise) of what the amp can handle, and when you really push it it goes into protection mode.

my amp's the same. I haven't had a problem with it so far (2000w).
