I replaced my Dist. cap & rotor last night and the old
screws came out clean & were tight but the new ones
didn't tighten up all the way. The new ones had some
blue thread stuff on them. I tried the old ones and they
didn't tighten up either. I'm sure I didn't strip them, at
least by force. I need to get this tightened up cause big
rainstorm tommorrow here in PA. Any Suggestions?
Thanks.
With the way the plugs & cap were worn out, this truck must
have been well designed to keep itself running well.

Hopefully you were careful removing the screws because that blue stuff is loctite and the distributor is made of plastic. Check your holes for enlargement. Sorry for the bad news.

I was very careful removing and putting the new ones
in. I called the parts store and he suggested some
bonding stuff by Permatex. I might check it out.
