I need a new motor!!!!

my engine cant take much more it can be overhauled but i would rather spend the money and do it right the first time. heres the prob though!! i cant seem to find an engine anywhere!!! If anyone can help please let me know! :biggrin: thnx!

what kind of engine do u want be more specific

if you want to spend the money could go rb26 but than you have to figure out how to make it legal!

i also was wondering this same question. I can find a really good deal on 240's that have like 150,XXX miles but i dont want to turbo or upgrade something with that many miles. Could i just get it rebuilt? what all would need to be rebuilt? How much do you think it would cost? Things im guessing to be replaced....

-Cyl. bored and larger pistons installed/new connecting rods of course
-New valves
-New valve seats
-New valve springs and retainers
-New valve guidesNew cams if they are really worn
-The head would probably need to be re-machined to seat the new valves and make sure there is a tight fit
-New rocker arms?
Other than that im not sure what would need to be replaced on the block, got any ideas? i prolly missed a few things...

just go to boost-designs. They have rebuilt engines with everything you would need plus mani and dp. But then if you planed on getting a stock rebuilt engine so you could still drive the car while you part together your turbo, then this is probably not the choice for you. So really i dont know, it all depends on your situation. If you have 2 cars, i would go the boostdesign route. that way you can drive one while you finish sourcing all your other parts for turbo. If not well then i really cant say. Or just go sr, then you have a running (hopefully) engine thats already turbo, and you dont have to wait. Unless you got alot of cash, then either way you wont have to wait. Just install time and your set.

so i mean you really cant vote to be honest, because i would say do a badass setup, but if you cant really afford it money wise or conveniance wise then you couldnt do that. so um.....

Your car is gonna need all those parts u mentioned and its gonna cost about 800.00 or so but i got a guy doing mine if i dont just get a new motor for about 600.00! you could over haul for now and get a new motor in a couple of yrs. Thats probably what im gonna do.

change from auto to manual.
