New Painting (Cartoon car!)

Im very proud of this, though the whole piece isn't done yet...I have never had a cartoon car come out this well before, at least I think it did.
Here's my progression...
This pic caught my eye when I was searching for rat rod stuff, so I sketched out a cartoon based on it.

Here is the initial sketch. Its about 6 inches long, and in a tiny notebook to give you some idea.

After I made the sketch I didnt want to try and readraw it, so I scanned it, blew it up, and reprinted it. Then I sharpied and colored it and cut it out.

I then put it where I wanted it to be on the...yes, its a toilet seat cover. I used my Stabilo to trace along the outside, so the proportions would be right. Then I filled in the detail by looking t the pic I had drawn.

Then I painted it. I can go through the steps I took when painting it, but only if you want to know. But here is how it sits as of now. Tommorrow (probably), I will add some text, which I havent decided on yet, and maybe some striping on the lid, and then maybe something on the bottom of the lid.

Total time for the car, about 4 hours from when I started sketching to the last stroke of the brush.

That looks pretty good, but it could even look better with more shades to the colors in my opinion.
