I am having some kind of ignition problem with my 93 Dakota. When I start the car cold every thing works as it should but if I say drive to the store it won’t start sort of. It will crank and start up but then immediately die. If I keep give it gas it will keep running but once I let off the gas it will die. I have to put it I drive with my foot on the pedal. Once I drive over 20 for block it will stop dieing and work perfectly. I was thinking it might be some sort of computer problem. Any one heard of some one with a simler problem of any clue?
Thanks for any help

I found a consumer report that talks about a “Rough idle” problem because of a problem with the idle air control motor especially in warm weather. http://auto.consumerguide.com/Auto/Used/reviews/full/index.cfm/id/2022/act/usedcarreviewreliability/
So I replaced the idle air control and it works great now.The part was Niehoff Ignition 21821 if anyone has the same problem

hey I've got the same problem. Car would start, but could only keep it running with foot on gas and brake. have you found out anything new? The problem for me has been intermittent, but yesterday was constant for about 6 hours. Any info I can get would be appreciated.

If that doesn't work, I had the a similar problem, I had to replace the EGR Valve.
