Hi and welcome, before i give any advise, what are your goals for your car?? (drag, auto x, etc..) and how much power are you looking to get? Also what are you more into.. performance or looks?

hey thanks for your reply. im into both performance and looks. as far as drag or auto x goes, i want my car to be a fast and somewhat powerful car all the way around. But i need to do this the cheapest way possible and im not sure if you know any good websites or have any advise for me. i just wanna know what i need, in what order, any certain brands and what would u do? thanks a lot.

For alot of your parts you can find deals on ebay. I bought a 4-1 Tsudo Header, catback exhaust, and a set of DRAG WHEELS (no tires)for about 850.00 shipped.I got the AEM short ram intake for about 79.00 shipped. I bought the Tokico RAK-502 Coilovers for 650.00 shipped. I'm eventually going to buy more stuff but I need to find another job first. If you are buying stuff on ebay, just make sure the seller has a high percentage of good feedback , and alot of sales as well. I tend to find ones that have over 300 sales and at least 98% good feedback. I really couldn't tell you any other sites to buy from since all my parts have come from ebay.

i think what he means is what kind of brands work best for his car and in what order should he mod his car? like intake, header, exhaust and what brands would be good. I'm new at this, but i'd say go with an injen intake, dc sport header, and greddy exhaust. thats good for starteres if its completely stock

r u serious kid? z24 would dominate any stock LS SE. no replacement for displacement. later rice boys.

No replacement for displacement eh? Then why does a stock GSR with the same 1.8 liter size defeat your modified Z24?

this is the funniest damn thing i have ever seen. take a look at his cardomain page. it says "Scott Zanio's Chevrolet: 'Rice Killin' Cavi'". you contradict the hell out of yourself by even making a poll on you web page that asks what car come spring and listed is an '05 RSX-S, an 97-99 eclipse GST, and to keep your wannabe fast "cavi" and there you are thinkin about getting an import. you are a disgrace to all domestic owners:shakehead

the even funnier part of the story is that you want $5k for it. ok kelley blue book lists your car at $2,455 at say 80k miles. now my car which is a '93 at 220k miles is listed at $2,900. now that is some hella value

alright, laugh up the cardomain site. I wasnt aiming at any of you, ross is my buddy and i was just giving him a hard time. he's got a stock LS SE. thats what I meant - obviously you can mod hondas and they hold their value a lot longer - thats why ive been looking into a new RSX or an AWD GSX. didnt mean to piss any of you off. but comparing a stock LS SE and Z24 - i'd dominate him.

well for mods for the car.......go woth either aem V2 or injen cold-air intake. go with dc sports 4-2-1 header. i prefer 5zigen exhaust. skunk2 intake manifold. str 70mm throttle body. unorthodox pulleys......u can go with cam gears too but. don't have to. u can go with a mugen chip or spoon. buy a short shifter...and whatever else........i have all those added on to my b16 swap this month thats going in my 91 ls teg. pics of my car do later this month after the swap.

when you say unorthodox pulleys are you talking about underdrive pullys? jw

CASHJON

yes the complete set. the set for me will cost 200 bucks...where you live not sure. you could as well get rid of your power steering and ac too....that will help a lil...but not sure what you wanna sacrifice

In my opinion, power steering on a front wheel drive car is more useful than say a rear wheel drive car. We have power going through the turning wheels, so it's harder to turn them even with powersteering. I've shut my car off to go around a few curves, simply to test out what it feels like with out power steering. It was a lot harder to turn than I had thought. My friend has a Nissan 240sx (RWD) and I've driven his car. Even with a much weaker power steering pump, his car's wheel is really easy to turn when moving. For RWD it's easy to get away without power steering (in fact some prefer it, because it gives more feedback when drifting, or racing). However, in a FWD car, it's really helpful in my opinion.

CASHJON

true. power steering is more useful in a front wheel drive car like his although you can do with out....ive had cars with and without so....im used to both.. its all up to him though

whats the difference between a underdrive pully and overdrive pully, if there is such a thing?

pepsihatman
04-05-2005, 02:30 PM
Never heard of an overdrive pulley. Only underdrive. I suppose by the wording, you could assume that it would overdrive the accessory and make it spin faster.... But what would I know.

are there any major power gains, are they easy to install, and what exactly do they do.

also, what is better, a 4-2-1 or a 4-1 header.

CASHJON
04-09-2005, 11:10 AM
I prefer 4-2-1. i believe the difference between the two is 4-2-1 is for street/strip...and 4-1 is for drag......i could be wrong though.

pepsihatman
04-09-2005, 11:18 AM
A 4-2-1 header is meant to develope power from the low to mid range, and some high range power. A 4-1 header is meant to develope most of it's power in the high range, 6k and up range (or something around there). I bought a 4-2-1 header accidentally (wanted a 4-1) but I'm quite happy with the performance I got. It is a DC header btw.
