HF to Si..1991

I just replaced my tired HF engine with an not so tired Si engine. I used my 8 valve head on the Si engine cause the valves were stuck on the 16 valve Si engine and the intake on my head has the EGR on it so everything plugged right in. Then the nightmare started. I have been able to get the engine started only once and then again and then never more. I tried switching computers, and distributors and fuel resistors and back again. I got a spark when I unplugged a MAP sensor plug and then that spark went away. What is happening here? HELP........ :banghead:

Excellent compression. I seem to have a problem getting spark. I just tested the igniter and there is no continuity from the white wire to body ground or the blue wire to body ground. Now what? Tried both distributors. Could they both be bad?

Ok, I got her started. Now I have a map sensor code blinking on the ecu. She runs a little rough and backfires and the tach is going nuts. Is there something else I should change here? Anyone know anything about this kinda swap?

Great, but what does this have to do with JDM motors and parts?
NOTHING.
So I moving this to a forum better suited for this question.

Did you change any wiring at all? or it sounds like it may be out of time if it is running rough and backfireing. try moving the dizzy aroung and see what you get or if it gets better or worse, but i dont think the map sensor would do all that.

I did change the ecu and the distributor and that is how I finally got it started. I am getting closer now. Thanks for the reply.
