I second that, as my throttle has one also, going straight to the cruise control box. :)

How are you wiring it, Are you converting to obd1 or just using a rpm switch or vtec controler?

usdm 92-95 civic si and 4 dr ex

it is also called the d16Z6, it list both at the part store under a civic but the z6 is more common i believe, i have never seen an a6 before w/ my own eyes but there are some out there. I don't know if there are any small differences in the two but i think they are basically the same.

d16a6 is in our civics sis and ex's. thats not a usdm engine either. a usdm engine would have another number after the A (D16a6) while a jdm engine would say (d16a). I thought the jdm 92-95's came with the D15B vtec...

hmm good point, didn't really notice that there wasn't an number at the end of the engine code, i just didn't look good. it also has a one wire o2 sensor too so that's another sign of jdm, my bad on that, i was thinking a6. Maybe it was in the later 92-95's or something in japan. But i kinda wouldn't mind knowing either just to know.

I am going to OBD 1, sick of the msd box and pm6 ecu that ran my mini me, I got my harness already need to soder some parts of it on. waiting on my chipped p28 ecu.
as for the engine, it confuses the hell out of me... its marked d16a and is vtec, never even heard of such a thing. I believe its obd1 due to the map sensor on the TB and the po8 intake manifold, but the O2 sensor is only one wire???? I assume its jdm due to the jap. writing on the timing belt cover, and the lack of anything after the "A" perhaps its euro or african??? I don't know.
Can't wait till I get it in there, But I'm taking my time cleaning everything and making it nice. wait till you guys see pics of my freshly painted dc header on it, its sexy for sure!
back to work I go

Your doing this the same way i am. I have the motor in the car now, just a few more things to hook up and then i am going to put in new shocks and suspention parts. Are you using a obd jumper harness or doing it all your self? Now this is something that has had me confused, if you standing in front of the car on the passanger fire wall where the map sensor is mounted on my 89 hf there are 4 vacum lines that come out of that box, i wired my map sensor to the motor and everthing, so what good is that box now. I noticed it wasnt in you car in the pics, so can i take that thing out and chunk it?

you mean the charcoal canister?? I still have mine, but its just kinda dangling right now, to free up room.
and I bought a harness, the craftsmanship on it is superb too, I'll have to get some pics of it.

yea post those. I modifyied my harness my self and it turned out pretty good. I uncovered everthing and recovered it too as far as the harness goes. So i still need the charcole filter? Where do the vacum lines go? i don't have anywhere to put them on my new motor. Just to be curious can you tell how they wired up the o2 sensor? i have 2 wires that i cant figure out what to do with them. It's the 2 o2 heater wires, but on my obd jumper harness i only have 1 o2 heater wire, so i can't figure out if i am supposed to run the two o2 heater wires to the 1 jumper harness wire or what. But i guess i'll figure it out somehow, no one seems to have this prob though cause i can't get any help on it so it's prob something easy that i just don't see.

they go to the top of the TB
and here are their directions.
1. Connect tge brown to one of the blacks (heater)
2. Purple to Green (ground)
3. Yellow to black (12v switch)
4. Gray to white (signal)

Those are not the colors of my wires at all. The original colors out of the harness i used was Green wire w/ white stripe, orange w/ black stripe, yellow w/ black stripe, and white. But i have a aftermarket o2 sensor in which the wire are as i listed above. On my jumper harness my o2 heater wire is blue, my signal wire is white, and my ground is black. there are no other wires labled for the o2 sensor, that's why i thought maybe i should run the 2 heater wires to the 1 heater wire on the jumper harness

Yeah I didn't figure the colors would be right on the harness... any way, you need one Positve and a ground going to the heater wire, so find out which the one you have is and do the opposite...
here is what i could find on the d16a http://www.d-series.org/forums/showthread.php?t=14502&highlight=d16a+vtec
and I got it from a guy off of ebay, jdm_enginesource, great ebayer, took real good care of me and the engine is beautiful.

LOOKS GOOD.
But one thing. I am not sure that using the heat sheald bolt to lift a motor that is about 250lbs is a good i idea. You are also putting a lot of stress one the EX MN. I am telling you this becuase if it falls you will not be able to pic it up off of your self.

yea i picked mine up from the ground and set it up on a pallet about stomach high. but the tranny wasn't on it, i used the engine lift once the tranny was on. Just lift w/ your leggs and not your back, cause if you don't you'll have a sore back for a few days
