Light Under Dash????

what is the ligh under the dash for???? ... i have a base model and a vr4 and when i open the door of my vr4 the little yellow light comes on but when i do it to my base model it doesnt/.... i remember a while back the light did come on just started not a few days ago... what does it mean if the light doesnt come one and how do i fix it????

Its just a light, nothing else. Its supposed to aid in viewing the fuse panel. It probably just blew.

ok ... then why whenever i turn off the car none of the power locks, windows, lights, etc.... work.... they only work when the car is on and running! how can i fix this?

you go about looking up under the dash to the left of the steering wheel column and pulling out each fuse one at a time. What your looking for on the fuse is to see if the little metal strip inside of it is broken apart or not. There's also a fuse panel under the hood, it should be on the right side of the engine on top if my brain works right now, check all those too. I couldn't tell you specifically which fuse, sounds like there's a couple if your door locks don't work unless the car is on, check them all!! If they're all good then report back and we'll pinpoint another possible cause!

I would bet its only going to be one fuse. You'd be surprised but there is one fuse under the dash, and one fuse under hood that would make all the accessories only work as you described. It could be the battery fusible link under the hood, or I think #10 under the dash.

got it fixed guys it was a fuse in the motor ALT. bought a new fuse from the dealer 8 bucks!! bunch of ripp off people... i tell u... but thanks for the help

Doh. I got a whole bag of used but good fuses from mykiss69 on 3si for $1 when I bought some other stuff. Glad you got it fixed.
