Siezed...

Ok well I decided to change all the oil in my car today, went fine till I tried to get the transfer case fill plug off... Its siezed to hell, I tried a wrench and sledge but its hard to hit it with any force while squezed under the car (need to get a better jack than the stock one, dosent lift the car enough). Should I try heating it up with a blow torch? Thats the only option I can think of now. Tried PB blaster and got eyed by an errant chicken that didnt like me... Ohh and like an idiot I drained the transfer case fluid first.

pb blaster or whatever rust penetrant. spray it, let it sit for a few hours, and spray it again. when removing the plug, i've found that if you use a 1/2" drive ratchet, you can put your foot against the ratchet and push slowly yet firmly. that should do the trick.

I can't get a rachet in there since the O2 sensor is in the way and I can't get that off either lol! I think I'll try the torch... gotta make shure to wipe off all of the gunk or it might catch fire.. that would be bad!

umm, are you sure your loosening the right bolt, you should just be able to put a wrench on it and smack it with your hand a couple times.

You turning it the right way? Sorry had to ask. :p Definitely get ahold of a better jack, and find some sort of cheater pipe if it still wont break loose.

Yes its the right bolt, its in a different (much harder) place on the 6 speed. And yes I'm doing it the right way lol I stopped to think about that a million times.

Notice its on the front of the transfer case in the 5 and on the drivers side right next to the downpipe on the 6.

you could always pump the fluid in the tc.... from where you pulled the drain plug into... i had to do it that way when i changed fluid in my rear diff
