gas octane question

i saw a thread where someone said use lower octane for more power.

87 - civics use 87 no need to put higher octain in our cars no matter what people think or say our cars are made to perform best with that octain. As for performance yes he car will perform best engine wise burning the right amount of fuel at that octain. Your car will not go faster, if that was the case we wouldnt use 100+ octain on the track.
