Fuel Filter Question

Say I upgrade with a Walbro fuel pump after installing my SR. Is the fuel filter such as the one sold on enjuku specific to the pump or is it not? Is it needed in the first place if one upgrades the pump, as does it already come with a filter? Just some questions, answers would be great.

the filter doesn't really play a big role. if your current filter looks rusted and old then most likely there is some build-up on the inside which restricts your flow of fuel. Usually, 240 owners upgrade to a Z32 fuel filter... it supposedly gets more fuel flow but you could only tell the difference if your current one is clogged (somewhat).

i think it's like 9 dollars?

Z32 and then rev it up till 5000, hold it, FLOOR it to 7000, then let go.... Vrooom...POP! (flamez!)
i have the Z32 filter, it helps (not that much diff in $, and i think it helps in filtering more fuel through)

ya the Z32 filter works real nice

i found that it was slightly easier to get a flare from my sr with it in, 3inch full exhuast straight back

i think would be due to the fact that there is no fuel going into the motor, well to injectors, because the filter is so much larger

What about if I have a stock KA, or with little mods? Would the ZX Filter still help me out any, or should I just keep my stock one?

Now is there any defference between the Factory Nissan Fuel filter and the Autozone one? Any difference at all?

yea thats wat i wanna know any difference between them?

slideways...

probably not much of a diff at all. most companies use the same paper-type element in every filter made. and if it isnt specified as a performance or high flow filter then it will be the same as stock or close enough.

and if you think about it putting a bigger fuel filter on will only help if the filter element actually FLOWS better

its like putting a 4" test pipe into the middle of your 2" exhaust...it still has to go through the same size fuel hose, rail, ect. after it goes through the filter.

im sure that the z32 filter does flow better just because of all the people who have tried it and say it works, but then again, could it be a massive, worldwide placebo effect? :)

awwwwwww a placebo maybe it is....i never thought of it like that maybe it is but who will ever know i have been plague by it now

More filtering element means it doesn't clog as quickly. And you would think of it as the cat. REmove the cat and what happens? Prolly not much for a stock car, but for a modified vehicle, you will have a noticable difference. Both fuel filters are the same price so you make the choice. Its not life threatening or anything. Shit, its not even worth arguing about.

It runs better, but runs rich? Running rich is not necessarily a good thing ya know.

nissanfanatic

It doesn't run rich. Fuel pressure is regulated via FPR. Fuel pressure reaches a certian level and then all extra fuel being pumped to the fuel rail is sent back to the tank.

Exhaust got louder:screwy: :shakehead

well i mean it runs better than b4 i thought rich was a good thing but yea it runs better yea the exhaust got a bit more louder it sounds so damn stupid but its true lol i cant explain it.
