Heya,
Is the H22A4 (97 prelude) faster then the H22A (93 Prelude)? i want to race my mate who has the H22A4...both cars have full exhaust systems and thats about it. Thanks for all your inputs.

I think his talkin' about the h22a1 which comes on U.S. 93-96 VTEC Prelude's...
they have 190 HP 158 Torque h22a1 those Lude's weight about 2,800 pounds give or take 50 pounds lower/higher "people like to u know...about that..so I estimate at about 2,800 pounds ;)
JDM h22a also come with 190 HP 158 Torque that engine is pretty much the same as the U.S. Version but is less emission strictly "I belive" no gains THO!!
h22a4 has 190-200 H.P. 156 Torque depending on Transmission and Model year 97-98 190/156 torque on auto "99-01 is the same on auto" 195/156 torque on a stick shift "97-98" 200HP/156 torque on 99-01 model's stick shift base or SH
there is a Type S h22 but it's very RARE!! and it's a JDM engine and came on 97-01 "5thgen Lude" only in Japan it had 220 HP!!
damn Honda...they should of named it Prelude Type R like the teggy R and they wouldn't be any question on which car is faster ;) LoL...j/k don't wanna start anything cause I acutually just sold my '93 Prelude VTEC with 182k cause I thought it was S-L-O-W and this guy afford me 3,800 so I couldn't say NO ;) and now I'm not sure if I still want a Lude or TEggy ;) or either of those :)
p.s. it's a drivers race against ur buddie...good luck

I have read in a few different places that of all the different 4th and 5th gens the 93 vtec lude put down the best numbers as far as 0-60 and 1/4 mile times... :dunno: I mean faster by only .2 or .3 secs , so it's still a drivers race.
Was it the lightest one?

the 93 and 94 were the two lightest I believe.

Difference is negligible. 100% driver's race.

I never said anything about vtec, I just said that those two years were the lightest, from the S all the way up to the vtec.
