Hi all, I'm a newbie here (although an old CD-ROM of this forum). I bought this 1/24 Union Porsche 917K #22 kit from the Internet few years ago. After inspecting the kit, I found that it's hard to build, so let it untouched. In 2003, Fujimi announced that they would produce a line of Porsche 917K. It inspired me to think about this kit again. Luckily, I got a spare decal from Profil 24. So, I decided to start this project.
A little history: In 1971, Gijs Van Lennep and Helmut Marko had won the 24 Hours of Le Mans. They managed to beat the average speed record and broke the record achieved by Foyt-Gurney in 1967. The car they were driving was this Martini Porsche 917K #22.
This project takes me 4 months to complete, just a few months before the release of Fujimi's 917K. Hope you all will like this car.

Wow. Great work. Is the object under the car tape or something, to hold it to the display?
Nice spare tire and passenger seat.... LOL

Nice Porsche. Very good level of detail and nice paint. I have one of the Union Porsche 917K kits and wanted to see one built up. Thanks for sharing!

One further question AC. Do you have any progress pictures? I ask because one of the rules of contest entry is each model should have a progress thread. Primarialy to assist in judging, and to share cool techniques. You're still most welcome in the comp if you don't.

Hi guys, thank you for your comments.
SteveK, I did a quick and dirt job underneath the car... that was a Blu Tack sticking the car to the case. :icon16: I should avoid to do that again.
Mikusen, that was the good old days - RMS 9... I missed your fully-opened Enzo as well.

P.S. the #23 was built by my friend, nice car? :naughty:
RallyRaider, I'm sorry that the progress pics were promised to be posted on a magazine exclusively. Anyway, thank you for counting me in. :grinno:
I'll post a recent project with more progress pics. Here is a sneak preview...
