Wow! Thats really good looking work for a first time with no striping paint and a Kafka style brush (very hard to work with). I have a brush like that, Im afraid to use it though...
Just keep practicing! And if you feel up to it, I can probably get some Oneshot and ship it to you. If you covered it. I could actually get you all the supplies you need. Let me know if your interested.
And keep at it!

Tnx Ace,
didīnt really know that my brush was called a "Kafka"-style brush :screwy: But itīs about the only brush I could find up here and damn, it wasīnt cheap either. I recently found a store that carry Mack brushes and 1-shot paint, but itīs on the other side of the country and the prices seem pretty high... :shakehead How much is one jar/can/whatever of 1-shot over there? Also, donīt you think shipping would be pretty expensive considering the weight of the whole package?

Prices depend on the color usually, however the main colors, black, white, yellow, red are all about 12 US dollars or so for the half pint. Metallic colors are about 16 US dollars for the 1/4 pint. Mack brushes should be about 12 US dollars each too.
And ya, shipping wouldnt be cheap, but to get One Shot it'd be worth it. I would suggest just going to that store. The paint pays for itself easily in one job anyway. My 1/2 pint cans last over a year each. So its not like the paint kills you.

Hey guys if your still looking for brushes, I highly recommend a guy named Kieth out of New York. He runs a place called the Kustom Kulture Gallery. Helluva guy. Here's his inventory and prices...
http://www.sketchkult.com/keithdrop/brushmenu.gif
Give him a call to order. Dunno what the international system is but here's his number 516-623-5665.
Or if you dont want to go through him I can order them and them them to myself and forward them to you.
Lemme know

Sweet panel Tim, you really have a good eye for proportions. What kind of brush would you suggest is best for lettering, "autographs" and signatures? Swirly Q? Lettering quills? Alan Johnson Signature brush?

Ok, nice one.
What other paints can be used, eg. different surfaces?

OneShot on everything.
I think HOK makes a paint too, but Ive never used it and it a bit pricey.

I immediately saw this and had to come in and say HI. I also want to get into pinstripping namely because hot rods are growing here in Mexico, and a friend has even mentioned pinstripping some details on his 62 plymouth wagon. This thread has given me a good headstart on what to buy and what kind of brush. Ace, to do lines thinner than what you do, what brush would you suggest? I think he wants something not as elaborate, but he wants thin lines.
Olso, would you really get all the stuff and deliver it over here? it would be great, since over here the paint and specially the brushes seems almost impossible to get. Maybe I could make my own brush, but I'd still need good paint.
You have a great eye for what works in pinstripping, some of your designs are amazing, man, really. I think some of the line are a bit fat but those are excusively personal tastes, the stuff looks great. Damn I want to try this >.<

Yea, my lines are kind of fat, I can do thin, but Im not as much of a fan of the tiny lines, so I dont do many. As a starter brush, nothing beats a Mack 00. You can pull whatever size lines you want, its great in the curves. An all around good brush.
The line thickness is all a matter of how much pressure applied to the brush, angle of application, stuff like that. Once you get used to it it just becomes second nature.
And yes, if you Paypal me the money I will pick up all the stuff you need and send it to you.
Feel free to ask if you have any more questions!

A month of vacation and I wait til the last night to start cranking stuff out. Oh well, here goes...
First, my first purse work. Got this free at a garage sale last summer, and under a pile of junk I found it today. So I painted it.
Front- No I didnt paint this

Back-
http://img35.imageshack.us/img35/2723/art0610wp.jpg
And a aluminum tray I also got at a garage sale that I painted while I was bored a little while ago.
http://img35.imageshack.us/img35/107/art0659gg.jpg
http://img35.imageshack.us/img35/7904/art0666do.jpg
And finally, trying to make a half decent clock this time. I used an old record.
http://img35.imageshack.us/img35/3976/art0649qe.jpg
http://img35.imageshack.us/img35/1071/art0638ma.jpg
And my dad brought me a new present today for my workshop.

Thank you for your time.

Hey KustmAce,
Great striping!
Quick question. I've been looking all over for a small flat file like the one your dad gave you, even in places not even associated with art, arch. or eng.. Where is it from or what application and what size is it?
Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Dean

This guy bought a car and is planning on taking it cross country and have stripers from all the continental states lay some lines on it. Kicked it off here in Denver tonight.
