Battery Problems, Need Help!

I have a question for you guys, I got 3 amps 1 for my subs and 2 for voice. The sub amp which is an Mtx 8001 mono block is the one that's giving me prouble. Everytime I put up the volume while the car is off the subs start to make a poping noise and the amp light flashes. I read the manual and it says that it's either the battery or the remote cable. So I checked the remote cable and there all connected. So now my best guess is the battery is low and about to die soon. Only thing is that on my cap it shows 12v and higher when the car is off and 14v when it's on. So now I need advice before I change my battery, thanks in advace for all the help. PS. I have two 12 Mtx subs 400 rms each.

your battery may not be able to send enough amps to the amp when the alt. is not running, i sugguest getting a battery with at least 700 CCA

Woah okay while your electrical system may not be sufficient there's no reason you should hear poppin and the amp light flash (I'm guessing protection) What impedance are the subs wired for on the amp?

Well I already have a yellow top optima battery with 650cca 850 ca and a 300 amp powermaster alternator. The subs are 4 ohms and there set up parallel to the mono amp. The cap is a 2 farad cap with 4 ga power wire running from the batt. That might also be my problem.

Sounds like the battery cable, not the battery.

Check your (crimp on) connections on both sides, then check the ground the same way.

when you're having the problem, get a multimeter out, set to 20DCV, and check what voltage it is getting at the battery and ground going to this amp, This will rule out your battery and tell you if a cable is just slipping, (continuous low power = battery)(full power with times of no power = cable problem)

I've had a similar problem, it turned out both cables were slipping out of there connections + at the amp, and ground at body.
