I have found a 94' 9C1 Caprice with the LT1 for sale near me.

I'm looking for a little advice. The sticker says $3,500. I haven't had an oppurtunity to check the milieage or test drive it, but from looking at it, it's in pretty good condition.

It still has a hole from the spotlight, how hard is it to find and install a new spotlight?

also, are pushbars easy to find, put on, or are they even legal?

What do you think? I wouldn't mind buying it for under 3k. I need to go back and get some more info on it though.

Biggest thing is probably to check the condition the drivetrain is in. Take for a good test drive and check all the under the hood items like oil, transmission fluid, air filter, etc. Checking the condition of these items will probably tell you a bit about how well the vehicle has been taken care of (and indirectly condition of engine and other components).

And one more thing, copy the VIN and check an organization like www.carfax.com or other that could check vehicle history. Or you could request them to do it.

As far as carfax goes unless the car has been in private use, there won't be any results. Most Police department accidents won't show up on it.

More Info:

The car has 90 thousand miles, it was apparently a detective car.

I still haven't test driven it, but I looked it over some more, and it looks in good shape.

The guy said it was a detective's car...

Well it's got the important stuff. I saw 9C1 and LT1. Would be nice to find a G80, but those are pretty rare.

I have a 9C1 as well. It is a 1995 X-RCMP car it has 131000 on it. I got mine given to me from my 93 YEAR OLD grand father who bought it at auction in 1998 right after it came out of service. So needless to say it has had a pretty humbled life the last 7 years. Oh well that is going to change. I did get the option codes off the net for my 9C1 but can't remember where if some one can help me cut and paste these there is 12 pages of codes I could post for all too see. Sorry but I have the G80 code in my 9C1. As well as the LT1, 9C1, and rear doors, locks, and windows that do not work from the back seat. They where deleated right from the factory this way. My grandfather said it was a realy pain in the backside when they would take the car to church he would have to let the others out of the back. What a sigth that would be an X-RCMP 9C1 going to church with 4 senior citizens in it. If some will help I will gladly post the RPO codes that I have.
