Passenger window not working..

My passenger window is stuck halfway down, seems like it got off the track or something, the motor works, but it's not catching the window and is instead making this god awful noise...is this fixable??

Better peel off that door and have a look:

the way you describe it, it seems your window is still linked to the mechanism, (window is stuck in the middle) but the motor driving gears seem to be dead. I think the window regulator sells as a whole.
