Modifying Bose head unit

I just purchased a 2005 TB LT to replace my ridden-hard-put-up-wet 2002 Ford Crown Vic (no laughing, I work in EMS). I have the Bose sound system, minus the rear seat DVD. I have a laptop mounted in my vehicle for access to our dispatch software at work, and I also use it for MP3s...in the CV I used a tape adapter to play the MP3s thru the radio. I am quite sure that there is an aux. input SOMEWHERE in the back of the radio that would allow me to run an input from the laptop to the input on the radio for the DVD making the radio think the audio was coming from the DVD player...Any ideas / wiring diagrams?
Thanks in Advance

Sorry to break the news to you, if you have the 6 cd in-dash, there are no inputs on the radio at all! I have an 02 with the BOSE and the 6 cd in dash and wanted to add my mp3 player to my system, and searched and searched only to find at mulitple sources that there is absolutely no way to connect it in. If you just have the BOSE head unit with a single cd in dash, or whatever, I couldn't tell you what to expect, can anyone else help here? Also, they (Chevy) might have changed the radio around since 02, but I don't think they would be much different. Once again, can anyone else confirm this or prove that I have no idea what I am talking about since my TB is 02, and we are talking about an 05. Hope this helps, and you might be able to pop the dash off and check the radio yourself. Erik

It depends on the options that you got on the radio. I have an 04 and I know that it has the additional input for the XM. But you have to pull it to make sure.

If all else fails, mount an FM modulator and run the audio out from the computer to that. It modulates and "broadcasts" the signal to your antenna, and the radio picks it up as an FM station.

FM modulators are pretty crappy.....last thing I would use, but if you had too....
On the 04+ radios, there is the capability of external changers, Onstar, and XM radio input. There are a couple of vendors that make adapters so that you can use RCA inputs. However, if you have a multiple disk option and XM...you would have to ditch one. Here is a link to a place that makes decent adapters:

Unfortunately, the 02 models are the bastard stepchilds when it comes to the serial bus that runs these trucks. It was a one year only implemetation, which means there aren't as many out there....which means less of an aftermarket. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news :(

The website suggested says "Converts the 12 pin CD changer port of late model GM vehicles with CLASS 2 RDS or XM Satellite ready radios with 12pin changer CLASS 2 port (IE: RDS RADIO) and a 24 pin radio stereo harnesss. "
I have a 2003 TB LTZ with Bose, 6 CD Changer and On-Star. I know I dont have XM. How do I tell if I have "Class 2 RDS"?
Thanks!
