NEW YORK - Acura on Thursday, March 28, showed its DN-X sports sedan concept at the New York auto show.
The four-door concept is a mid-engine, all-wheel-drive vehicle powered by a gas-electric hybrid powertrain consisting of a 3.5-liter, DOHC V-6 engine that powers the rear wheels, and an electric motor assist that provides additional power to all four wheels. The result is 400 horsepower.
The engine is mated to a six-speed clutchless manual transmission with automatic shift mode. The DN-X also features drive-by-wire systems that operate the throttle, brake and steering. Also featured on the DN-X are adaptive cruise control and a night vision system.
Acura has no plans to produce the DN-X, said Tom Elliott, executive vice president of American Honda Motor Co. But some of the styling cues could appear on Acura vehicles in the next couple years, he added.

Isn't this the same thing that was called the Dual Note a few months ago?

I thought the dual note displayed at I think the Tokyo Autoshow was only a 2 seater, and a conceptual replacment for the NSX.
The above looks like a 4dr based on the first Dual Note.
Could be thier useing the Dual Note name on any concepts useing the hybrid engine lay out.

I think the most amazing thing about this car is its gas mileage. I don't remember off the top of my head what it was exactly, but it was something like 35-40 mpg!!!! out of a 400hp engine!!! i was astounded when i read it..... the styling of the car will not appear in the future but hte technology... whats the point of NOT using it? :D

Yes. The Dual Note and the DN-X are the same thing, only the Dual Note carries the Honda badge. Same Tech, same Specs(or so I read). This is the Dual Note http://www.autonews.com/files/tokyo4.htm

I'd love it if they produced the Dual Note. What's not to love about a sleek body, Honda/Acura's reliability, and 3.9 second 0-60 times?!?!?
Luckily, this tech will show up in next gen NSXs, and hopfully RSXs and TLs. If I was running Honda, I would make a Civic Dual Note, with the something like a 240hp Honda S2000 engine(beef up the torque though, 169ft-lbs it to low) with Integrated Motor Assist(that's what it's called, other nickname is 'electric turbocharging') That'd be the ultimate sleeper, and probably go 0-60 in 5 seconds or so. Maybe even less! :iceslolan
Who wouldn't want one? Perfect for V8 killing! :evillol:

the HSC Honda Sports Concept is the replacement for the NSX
