What engine mods are best to get first for the 240?? I already have an ACT clutch/pressure plate, etc. and I also have a hotshot header and and APEXi N1 exhaust. What should I get next? I have heard cams are a good upgrade for the KA24 but I don't want to lose much low end power. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Maybe a decent intake? Anything that gets more air in and out of the engine or helps combust the existing mixture better will make more power.
Cams aren't necessarily gonna make more power, they will just shift the powerband a little higher in the RPM range. Good for top end pull.

If I want to turbo later would it be worth it to get an intake now? I Probably won't be getting the turbo very soon. Maybe in a year or two.

You'll be throwing out that header when you turbo so it doesn't seem to be the issue.

yeah i didn't know that until after i bought it, oh well.

well to be honest i would say do some more research on the turbo thing. Because you really dont want to waste to much money on stuff that you wont need. Unless you have a good income then buy away. But there is stuff you can buy that you can use on the turbo setup. Fuel pump, z32 maf etc. Just search around and read.

I/H/E will probably cost around 1000$ if you buy decent shit, why not just make a few sacrifices and save a bit more for KA-T?

You didnt know that you wouldnt be able to use a header after you turbo? You probably should do some more research on things for upgrades rather than KA-T....

Intake is always the absolute FIRST, cheapest, easiest, most bang-for-the-buck mod to do.

No, exhaust should be the first. That stock system is super restrictive. 2" pipe with crappy mufflers. Yea forget the header. Adn do some reading. YOu'll eb spending about 2K for parts if you price everythig out right. No turbo timer, no BC, none of the fancy stuff. KA-T isn't easy if you just wander into it. You need to know what you need and what works with what. I would recommend the boostdesign stage 1 kit with a FMU for a beginner. www.boostdesign.com

i'd say the best bang for the buck mod would be the ASP light weight crank pulley. i have it when i was n/a felt a noticable difference, and it probrably gave me gains in mulitples compared to n/a when i ran boost.

Is it an underdrive pulley or just lightweight?

dont get any more mods until you turbo
thats my recommendation
when you turbo you can get
255lph fuel pump
370cc silvia injectors(or bigger depending on boost)
FMIC
turbo-spec cams
adjustable FPR(if you want)
BOV
ect., ect., ect.
there are so many turbo bolt ons for any car but to get power from a non-turbo you really have to commit to non-turbo and start upgrading internals, i.e. high compression, stand-alone ecu, ect.
so save your money for your ka-t and just race civics until then :)

oh yeah pulleys are a good idea on any car, but dont underdrive your alternator if you have a big stereo

What would it do to put turbo cams on an N/A engine in the mean time?

It wouldn't hurt anything. All they would do is shift the powerband up a little ways. Thing with turbo cams is you still have that smooth idle. They don't have a lot of overlap.
A lighweight flywheel woudl be a good idea too.

What is a good pulley? I know that boost designs has there set, and unorthodox is supposed to make a pretty good one but other than those, or of those, what is the best for an N/A?

Can I just start buying and installing my turbo spec internals? Or should I buy everything and drop it all in at once?

Depends, if you have the same or higher-compression pistons then go ahead, if you have low-comp pistons, wait til you get the turbo.
TatII

ehhh. i wouldn't buy lower compression pistons and put them in a n/a car cause
1) you'll lose power
2) your wearing out brand new internals before you put your turbo on. and who knows when you'll get the money for hte turbo. it could take years for all we know.
also for the lightweight pulley, the ASP does both, its lighter and it underdrives ( but not as much as a Unorthedox racing pulley would )

Plus your ECU is set up for 9.5:1 pistons. Timing is way too retarded for the lower comp pistons.
