Car wont start cooling fan stays on

I have a 95 Grand AM GT 2door coupe just a couple of days ago i drove from my house to my friends house which is three blocks away my car didnt have the cooling fan on when i arrived later on when i went out his mom called his cell phone saying my cooling fan is on and it wont turn off well i was far away at the time and the mom didnt no wut to do i asked her if she can disconnect it but that didnt happen i arrived later that nite and my car wouldnt start cause of the battery being dead and all so i jumped it my car still didnt start the jumper cables started to smoke and the car still wasnt able to turn on so i have no clue what is going on with it i disconnected the fan and well they still wont start im not even getting a clicking noise when i even try to start it its completely silent so anyone out there help!!!

Are you getting any lights, or interior stuff like radio, blower fan, turn signals? Will the headlights come on?

usually when jumper cables smoke, they aren't hooked up right. You might want to put a charger on it instead. As for the fan running, it might be a bad relay. Thats a strange story, the keys weren't in the ignition when the fan was on?

yea uhh everything is completely dead i no its the battery so i got it recharged at autozone for free but the fan wont stop everything works now but i have no fan but im guessing its the relay thnx for the help

you may have a bad sending unit, check the fan by using a jumper wire to the power side of the fan. Un plug the wire harness and run a pos. and neg lead and see if the fan operates. If it works then you can work back from there to find the problem.
