I've a '92 LX 3.0 w/ 4EAT. I was backing up one day and my trans. just seemed to let go, I looked to see if maybe I knocked it into N but it was still in R, then i checked the tach to make sure it was still running and it was then the man shift light started flashing... I done the diag. test and the only code i got was for a vss... I just don't see how this could render the transaxle completely dead, no noise, no burned fluid, just no go... anyone else with this problem???? Any suggestions @ all?

f you got it back working right away you prob reseted the computer when you started it, then took off right away with out allowing in this case the tranny to get back to normal from the reset. If its still not working you can try a couple things if its still not working.
start your car then immediately turn it off, wait 5 secs, turn it on then immediately turn it off agian, wait 10 secs then just try it like normal, that how you restart your computer, it might fix it.
Or another way is to turn the key all the way but dont start it. Put it in all gears with a stick then start it in 1st, and try it out. With an auto, put it in all possible drives and reverse, then put it into D and try to start it, then it shouldn't obvioulsy start, then put it into P and start it. See if it works.

I am having the same problem. I have a failure code 6 which is the vehicle speed sensor. I can not find it to verify however. Have you fixed yours yet?

if you want reset your ecu,all you have to do is,take off the
negative batt. cable and press the brake pedal for 30 seconds,
puit the neg. cable back on and your set.
