Hello AF friends,

I've been away for quite some time without visiting this forum with the idea of retaking the scale car modelling hobby again.

My first experiences (some years ago) in car modelling were 2 Tamiya models and 1 Revell model (i think). I gave these cars to a hobby shop for an expo and never saw them again. Nothing really great but now i regret that i never made any pictures.

These were:
Volvo 850 Turbo Estate
Mercedes Promarkt
Chevy '57 Belair

Now a co-worker has gave me a scale car model of the Lancia 037 Tour de Course from Hasegawa which should be quite a challenge. (he didn't have the patience to do it). It's funny because i remember some time ago asking about what scale car model could be challenging and this seems to fit what i asked for.

The real question for this thread is that i'm thinking about these transkits from Media Mix Hobby and i don't know if i have to build the scale car using the parts from the transkit as i build it or first build, paint and then put transkit parts.

In other words if i already have a finished car and then buy a transkit would it be difficult to do?

Well thank you in advance for any comments.

Build the car using the transkit. Trying to use it later will result in many headaches.:)

Great thx 4 the reply.
I think i'll start looking for which parts to order. Any recommendations as for where to look for (apart from mediamix) and which transkit parts are good quality ?

www.scaleracecars.com has a ton of transkits by a bunch of companies. They are great to deal with too, and ship with a quickness. Give them a try.
