im new to swapin engines in honda's. i have dun it on chevy and stuff but im going to try to put a d15b in my 90 civic dx and run it off a pr4 and a msd switch for the vtec and im going to have to wire up the mpfi and would like to know on 1 to 10 how hard every one thinks this is?

i have swap the same enigne before but there was really nothing to it.

oh and if any one has any sites that might help with any parts of this like msd switch to wire the vtec and wire the new mpfi?

do i have to change my disb or can i use my new disb from my d15b2?

can i use my alt from my d15b2 because i got a 150 amp one for that car and want'd to keep it the same?

and i was wanting to know if i forgot anything to worry about to?

you will need to convert to MPFI and use those parts.

I will make a suggestion on the ECU and switch as well.. for less than the price of an MSD RPM switch ($65-$70), you could get a PM6 chipped to run 1 wire VTEC. It wont work with the PR4 though, so you'd have to absorb the cost of a 90-91 PM6 which would be about $50. so for $100 you can have a chipped ECU with proper maps to run your SOHC VTEC plus it controls VTEC... just something to think about..

I am putting that motor in my CRX right now, there is alot of info outthere on this swap, do some searches. This is my first honda swap too, i have put many motors in cars but i am converting to obd1 and havn't done that yet. I keep getting crossed up on wire color cause they all blend in together after awhile. But is you car currently Mpfi, if not you'll have to convert that, and also, i am pretty sure you want to use the dizzy that goes w/ the comp, for example, if you were running the p28 ecu then you would use the vtec dizzy on the motor, but since your using the pr4 then i am pretty sure you have to use the dizzy from the car w/ that comp. And also you will be able to upgrade to the si clutch kit from 92-95 as long as you use the same year flywheel, or you can just use you original stock too if you want, just make sure you change the flywheel from the recessed one to the flat one if you go that rout. I can't think of anything else off the top of my head but i am sure i missed something.
