I have heard that we can take our stock GM XM head unit and put a sirius reciever with it.... anyone know anything about this????
It will allow us to use the radio controls and display with the Sirius, not having an additional unit. I think we need to get another antenna and reciever though.

I have a 2005 Trailblazer LT.
Once my free XM runs out, Jan 2006, I'm looking to go this way.

From what I read, we'll be able to use all the XM/sat. radio controls for Sirius radio along with the stock 6disc/bose/gm radio.
Email customer service to make sure and they can help you out.
Sounds too good to be true, huh?
Good Luck!

I had the Sirius Starmate before buying the Trailblazer. I have both hooked up and the XM direct "sounds" better because I have to use the Sirius built in FM Modulator. When using "the gear" from my post, I'll (we'll) be able to have the direct signal like the XM.
As far as paying for Howard Stern...YES !
I find all the Sirius channels are superior to XM! Believe me, I've been using both for 2 months. Sirius 2 months before that. For Rock, there are 6 or 7 channels that span all my rock moods. As well as blues, jazz & talk. Not to mention the other 70 or so!
I feel XM is limited for rock. But to each his own.
Being a Stern Fan is just icing on the cake.
Check the websites, sign up for the free web access to both, you'll see.... not sure if Stern will be available on webcasts.
